Client

Techne R&D specialises in mobile app development with a strong focus of delivering high quality digital solutions to its clients. The clients that normally walk through the door are first time founders looking for the best development team that can guide them through the app development realm.

The types of projects clients bring span across various industries -- fitness, education, human resources, medical tech, e-commerce and many more. These projects utilise different context and strategies to produce as they are not one size fits all in terms of deliverable and value.

Example Project Architecture:

  • B2C iOS & Android Apps

  • B2B WebApps

  • B2B2C iOS & Android Apps

  • B2B2C Responsive Web

Discovery Phase

The Discovery phase is where we get to know the client and their idea better. To understand the WHAT, WHY and HOW of the idea to get a grasp of the types of technology and strategy we will be using. During this process we conduct workshops for our clients using a Figjam board, to help visualise all the ideas on to categorised sections that will be impact the app’s development.

This process scopes out the complexity and depth of a project, which allows us to prepare the right framework and architecture to achieve our client’s vision. Budget, time and the number of portals will be considered in order to provide the optimal digital solution.

Our deliverables in this phase would be to formulate the following:

  • Problem Statement

  • Target Audience

  • Strategy to Market

  • Stakeholder Goals

  • MVP Features

  • User Flows

  • Type of Interface/Platform

  • Sitemap

Design Phase

The Design phase begins right after mapping out the navigation of the platform with a sitemap. This is where the creativity begins with the initial drafts of the wireframes of each portal of a project having it’s own unique spin on it based on existing inspiration.

This phase is a co-creation process with the client where I would design iterations of the platform to seek feedback from the client to ensure that the product design aligns with the client’s vision.

The deliverables are:

  • Each Portal Wireframes (Customer, Business, Master Admin)

  • Each Portal UI Design

  • Design System & Branding (Colour Scheme, Typography, Spacing scales)

  • Prototypes

My Role

My contributions from my role as a Product Manager & Product Designer lies within the ability to visualise the product roadmap whilst gathering the requirements.

In addition to that, I am able to design highly practical and aesthetic digital solutions in the form of Wireframes and UI Design screens.

I also take pride in making myself and the team more productive and efficient through various tips and tricks I research online. Such as creating design systems that hold a components library to standardise the design delivered, and to provide internal workshops on how to use the latest Figma tools.
